Dragalge received quite a bit of attention in Pokemon Legends Z-A. The Mock Kelp Pokemon, which was first introduced during Generation Six, reappears alongside its home region. It’s typing of Poison and Dragon opens up some interesting possibilities. Especially against Fairy-types, which are the ultimate counter to Dragon Pokemon.

Dragalge can exploit the unique real-time combat of Legends Z-A in multiple ways. To make the most out of Dragalge, you will need proper moves. Here is the best moveset and Nature for Dragalge.

The best moves for Dragalge are as follows:

  • Toxic Spikes
  • Sludge Bomb
  • Dragon Pulse
  • Focus Blast

In competitive battling, you can only switch your Pokemon out a select number of times. This means that conditions that cause damage over time, like poison and burn are very powerful. Toxic Spikes lets you easily poison an enemy. Meanwhile, Sludge Bomb is a powerful Poison-type move that also carries a chance to poison enemies.

Generally, you should avoid direct combat and ambush enemies who are distracted to poison them before retreating. Of course, you can always Mega Evolve if needed to engage in direct combat.

Dragon Pulse is an excellent Dragon-type move, which Dragalge can make full use of. Particularly in its Mega Evolution, which significantly boosts its Special Attack.

Finally, Focus Blast, as a Fighting-type move, lets you pick off any annoying Steel-types. These would otherwise resist Dragon-type moves and be immune to Poison-types.

Best Dragalge Nature in Pokemon Legends Z-A

Dragalge is not a speedy Pokemon, nor is its Attack all too impressive. It is primarily a special attacker and a defensive Pokemon. As such, the Natures that suit it best are:

  • Bold (+Def/-Atk)
  • Modest (+SpA/-Atk)

You should try to buy these Nature Mints from their respective shops within the game. Since its Special Defense is very high to begin with, it doesn’t really need any help on that front. These natures can help its offensive viability or its survivability, while sacrificing Attack, which it does not need. If you want, you can also go for Calm to raise its Special Defense further and make it a veritable Special tank.
