Emboar is a Fire/Fighting type first introduced in Generation V. This Pokemon was a starter in both Generation V games and is also a choice in Legends Z-A. And like the other two starters, it got a new Mega Evolution. So let’s see how to use Emboar competitively.
Best Emboar Moveset in Pokemon Legends Z-A
These are the moves you want to use on your Emboar, especially if you are looking to Mega Evolve it later.
- Heat Crash
- Close Combat
- Head Smash
- Power-Up Punch
Emboar remains a powerful physical attacker after its Mega Evolution. Additionally, it has decent special bulk now, too. However, it is a bit slow, so be careful while using it.
Every single move that you would want on Mega Emboar is learned by level-up. Heat Crash is the Fire STAB of choice, coming at the moment that it evolves from Pignite. Close Combat is the best Fighting STAB available at level 45. Head Smash is useful Rock coverage against Flying-types, which Emboar learns at level 56. Finally, Power-Up Punch is useful as a secondary Fighting STAB and gives a guaranteed attack boost. Emboar learns this when it evolves from a Tepig to a Pignite.

Best Emboar Nature in Pokemon Legends Z-A
An Adamant (+Atk, -SpA) nature is the best for Mega Emboar. It’s too slow to get any use out of Speed stat. Buy an Adamant Mint from a vendor in Rogue Sector 1.

If you want to use Mega Emboar, pick Tepig as your starter. However, you can catch Tepig in Wild Zone 20 in the postgame.
