The Formation Pokemon, Falinks, is one of many Pokemon that received a new Mega Evolution form within Pokemon Legends Z-A. This new form grants it a significant stat boost and makes it quite viable for battling.

This is based on its extremely high Defence and Attack stats. Here is the best way to use Falinks in combat.

Here are the best moves you should consider putting on your Falinks:

  • Bulk Up
  • Iron Head
  • Brick Break
  • Close Combat

Bulk Up should be your opening move. It lets you shore up your Defense and Attack stat even further. This will be great for starting your offense afterwards. After Bulk Up, you can immediately start off with Iron Head or Brick Break.

Iron Head covers against Fairy-type Pokemon (like Gardevoir), which are prevalent in ranked matches. Meanwhile, Brick Break breaks through the effects of Reflect and Light Screen. Both of these moves are also fairly common in online matches. This makes Brick Break invaluable.

Lastly, Close Combat should only be your last resort move if you see something weak to Fighting-type moves, because you will likely immediately be forced to switch afterwards from the defense reduction.

No Retreat is Falinks’ signature move. Although, using it will lock you out of switching, which can be devastating in online matches. Therefore, it is not recommended to use this move. However, you could replace Bulk Up with this move if you store it until your opponent is down to their final Pokemon.

Naturally, Falinks goes all in on Attack, while sacrificing Special Attack. Thus, the best nature you should use a Nature Mint for is:

  • Adamant (+Atk/-SpA)
  • Careful (+SpD/-SpA)

Attack is the center of this build, while none of the above moves need Special Attack. So, Adamant is a clear choice in this regard. Careful can also be considered since Special Defense is a lacking point for Falinks. So, you could sacrifice Special Attack to give a small boost to Special Defense.
