Gardevoir is one of the best Pokemon to use in competitive play in Legends Z-A with the correct nature and moveset.

The Generation three Pokemon, Gardevoir, returns in Legends Z-A, and is extremely great in battle, given its great stats and large variety of moves you can use. This is further enhanced by its Mega Evolution form.
This guide will go over the best moveset and nature for the Embrace Pokemon.
Best Gardevoir Moveset in Pokemon Legends Z-A

Gardevoir’s most impressive stats are its Special Attack and Special Defense. Therefore, you should ideally use Special Attacks to your advantage. These moves will have the most impact:
- Reflect
- Moonblast
- Psychic
- Aura Sphere
Reflect is one of the core moves necessary for keeping Gardevoir alive. Gardevoir has high Special Defense, but it comes at the cost of its Defense stat. Reflect will cut down any damage you take from Physical attacks by half. On top of this, some of the best Steel or Dark-type moves are also Physical (Iron Tail, Crunch).
Moonblast is one of the strongest Fairy-type moves you can use. Moreover, it also has a chance to drop the enemy’s Special Attack in battle. This move will likely be irreplaceable, considering how many Dragons you are likely to see in competitive.
Psychic is one of the most powerful Psychic-type moves. Having a high base power is not the only good part about this move. It also has a random chance to drop the enemy’s Special Defense stat. This will make subsequent attacks deal more damage. These factors make it ideal for Gardevoir’s role as a Special Attacker. An alternative for this move is Psyshock.
Aura Sphere is a move that will provide you with type coverage. It can deal with Steel and Rock-type Pokemon, which are infamous for having high defenses. Moreover, Steel-type moves will be lethal on Gardevoir. Aura Sphere is supposed to act as a deterrent, and hopefully force them to consider switching.
However, you can easily replace Aura Sphere with moves like Calm Mind, Mystical Fire, or even Thunderbolt. You can slot any of these into the best moveset for Gardevoir.
Best Gardevoir Nature in Pokemon Legends Z-A
Gardevoir’s high Special Attack stat comes at the cost of its Attack and Defense. However, Defense is not something you should consider sacrificing anymore. Instead, dropping Attack even further in favour of Special Attack is likely the right call here. So, you should use a Nature Mint to change Gardevoir’s nature into:
- Modest (+SpA/-Atk)
This is the only viable nature for a competitive build, as you do not want to be sacrificing any of the other stats on Gardevoir. Maybe you could also consider a Timid nature (+Spe/-Atk) if you want faster cooldowns.
