Meganium is one of three starter evolutions you can have in Pokemon Legends Z-A. This Pokemon’s Mega Evolution makes it extremely great for long fights, given its high Defense and Special Defense. However, at the same time, it is capable of dishing out great damage and recovery because of having access to a bunch of Grass-type healing moves.

This guide will cover the best moveset and nature for this Pokemon, which would let it shine even further.

Disclaimer: This guide will contain the moveset assuming that you will Mega Evolve Meganium. The stats for Meganium and Mega Meganium are vastly different.

Here are the best moves you should consider using on Meganium:

  • Giga Drain
  • Leaf Storm
  • Dazzling Gleam
  • Reflect

Giga Drain is the crux of this build. It deals a good amount of damage, and also allows Meganium to heal back health. Given its great Defense and Special Defense stats, this move makes Meganium even more of a menace on the field.

Reflect lets the rest of your team survive some more hits, and should be what you usually start off with. Dazzling Gleam exists to deal with all the Dragons that will surely be running around in ranked matches. Lastly, Leaf Storm will deal an immense amount of damage right before you want to switch out, or want to end off on a high note.

Dazzling Gleam is a TM move here, so you might want to use a Seed of Mastery to master it through Josee. You will also want to replace Reflect with Light Screen if you are encountering more Special Attackers while battling competitively.

Best Meganium Nature in Pokemon Legends Z-A

The best Meganium nature is definitely Modest. None of the moves mentioned above is Physical. Moreover, Meganium’s best stat is Special Attack, sitting at 143. It is not recommended to drop Defense and Special Defense since Meganium’s bulkiness is part of why it is good in battle.

Moreover, Speed will be great in ensuring your move cooldowns are reduced. So, your only option left is to reduce Attack in favor of Special Attack, which is possible through a Modest nature. You can change your Pokemon’s nature easily through a Nature Mint.
