Pidgeot is a Normal/Flying type first introduced in Generation I. While it was very popular on in-game teams during Kanto playthroughs, it was not very effective competitively. However, it got a new Mega Evolution in Generation VI, which breathed new life into this old bird.
Best Pidgeot Moveset in Pokemon Legends Z-A
These are the moves you want to use on your Pidgeot, especially if you are looking to Mega Evolve it later.
- Hurricane
- Heat Wave
- Air Slash
- Quick Attack
Pidgeot becomes more of a Special Attacker when it Mega Evolves. Additionally, it becomes faster. It does not have a wide movepool, which is uncharacteristic of Generation I Pokemon like Starmie, Dragonite, or Clefable. This makes it a bit predictable to play around.
Hurricane is its best Flying STAB, which Pidgeot learns at level 45. However, it also uses Air Slash, which is also a level-up move at level 33. Heat Wave is great coverage against Steel-types, which is TM068. Mable gives it to you at level 28 of her research rewards. Finally, Quick Attack is useful to quickly snipe a weak opponent.

Going with a Timid (+Spe, -Atk) nature is ideal as Mega Pidgeot likes the extra Speed. You can purchase a Timid Mint at a vendor from Vert Sector 6.
Pidgeot Stats and Location
You can catch a Pidgey as early as Wild Zone 1. Other places where you can catch Pidgey include Wild Zone 5, Bleu District, Jaune District, Magenta District, Rouge District, and Vert District. Evolve it into Pidgeotto at Level 18 and Pidgeot at Level 36.
