Ranked Season 2 for Pokemon Legends Z-A is about to begin soon, and it will surely bring a bunch of new teams you should be trying out. The difference between the seasons will be the usage of the two Legendary Pokemon, Xerneas and Yveltal.

These two Pokemon were not allowed to be used in the first season, while they are allowed in this one. This guide will showcase some of the best teams for Ranked Season 2 in Pokemon Legends Z-A.

Season 2 of Ranked will start from November 5, 2025 and run until November 25, 2025. You will need a good combination of stats and types to ensure that you are able to match any foe. For this reason, these are the three teams you should consider using in ranked battles:

Xerneas, Garchomp, and Lucario

This team uses the Legendary Pokemon, Xerneas, as your primary attacker. A combination of Geomancy and Moonblast will have most of the game already reeling. Apart from this, you can use Garchomp to deal with any pesky Steel-type Pokemon like Metagross, which might come your way. Garchomp is also just one of the hardest hitters in the game, which increases even further with Mega Evolution.

Lastly, Lucario will be able to cover for Garchomp’s weakness to Ice-type moves. Moreover, this Pokemon is also capable of Mega Evolution in case Garchomp goes down. Since Xerneas does not need (or have) Mega Evolution to be great, it will be easier to make your decision between Lucario and Garchomp.

Yveltal, Excadrill, and Meganium

The counterpart to Xerneas, Yveltal, is also a beast of its own. The Dark/Flying-type Pokemon will be notoriously hard to knock out, especially with its Oblivion Wing attack. Its Electric and Fairy type weakness can be easily covered by Excadrill, with both its types, Ground and Steel. Lastly, Meganium will round out this team.

Excadrill has some weaknesses your opponents might exploit. However, if they do, then Meganium will stand as a good counter to some of them. Moreover, Excadrill can also cover for some of Meganium’s weaknesses. This makes them a good duo for covering each other.

Scizor, Gyarados, and Garchomp

Gyarados is one of the best attackers in the game. This point is solidified even more as Gyarados can Mega Evolve to get a boost to its stats. Its Electric and Fairy weakness (while it is Mega Evolved) can be covered by both its teammates. Garchomp has already been mentioned to be a solid Physical Attacker. The same goes for Scizor as well.

However, you should manage your Pokemon carefully, as all three of these have four times weaknesses to Fire, Electric, and Ice. Therefore, you should rotate them carefully whenever you anticipate a super-effective attack might be headed your way.

Those were three of the best teams you should consider using in Ranked Season 2 of Pokemon Legends Z-A.
