You can use the best moveset and nature on Umbreon to use it quite optimally in Pokemon Legends Z-A battles.
Umbreon isn’t the strongest Pokemon competitively if you look at its stats for Legends Z-A. However, you can use the right moveset and nature for Umbreon to make up for this stat difference. However, the Dark-type Eevee-lution has some tricks up its sleeve to make it viable in battle.

Best Umbreon Moveset in Pokemon Legends Z-A
- Calm Mind
- Reflect
- Dark Pulse
- Wish
Umbreon is a defensive Pokemon with not much offensive power. Therefore, this moveset is built to match that playstyle. You use Calm Mind to buff up your Special Attack and Special Defense first.
After that, use Reflect to decrease any damage taken from physical attacks. This will complete your setup. Now, you can keep using Dark Pulse over and over again to deal damage over time. Furthermore, this damage will be boosted by Calm Mind’s effect.
Lastly, you can use Wish or Moonlight to heal back any damage you take, and keep Umbreon alive. Wish will heal you after some time, while Moonlight provides more immediate effects. Your preference will depend on the move animation time, cooldown, and other factors.
Best Umbreon Nature in Pokemon Legends Z-A
Since Umbreon doesn’t have any use for its Attack in the above moveset, we will be sacrificing it to boost its other stats. You can buy Nature Mints from various shops across the city to change the stat changes from your Pokémon’s Nature into:
- Modest (+SpA/-Atk)
- Bold (+Def/-Atk)
- Calm (+SpD/-Atk)
Umbreon doesn’t use its Attack stat at all in this build, so your main focus should be to increase its defensive stats by sacrificing Attack.
Best Item For Umbreon
Apart from this, you should also consider using one of two items. The first is Leftovers, which will replenish your health in the middle of combat. The other item is Black Glasses. This item will boost the power of your Dark-type moves. These items will significantly boost the efficiency of Umbreon in battle.
