The best moveset for Vensuaur is:

  • Sludge Bomb
  • Giga Drain
  • Synthesis
  • Leech Seed

This entire moveset is dedicated to keeping Venusaur alive as much as possible. Begin the battle using Leech Seed to immediately make the opponent consider switching and wasting a precious switch.

You can then follow up with Sludge Bomb to have a high chance of poisoning your opponent as well. Following this, you can use Synthesis and Giga Drain to heal up while also doing great damage in the process.

If this feels too defensive for your preference, then you can replace Synthesis with something like Energy Ball, Sludge Wave, or Earth Power. All of these options will be quite viable for Venusaur.

However, you should note that outside of Leech Seed and Synthesis, the rest of the moves mentioned above must be learned through TMs. You can find the list of all TMs and where to find them here.
