In Pokemon, Bug-types have historically been early-game Pokemon that fall off in the late game. However, with Legends Z-A focusing on Mega Evolutions, the lucky Bug-types who got them now have a chance to shine. So let’s see which Bug-types are worth using on your Pokemon Legends Z-A team.

Disclaimer: Only fully evolved Pokemon will be considered for this tier list. This is because the final stages are the ones you are most likely to use for a long time. As for those Pokemon that can Mega Evolve, those will be taken into consideration while ranking them.

C-TierVivillon and Ariados

S-Tier

These are the best Bug-type Pokemon in Legends Z-A which can make their way onto any team:

PokemonReasoning
ScizorBST (Base Stat Total): 500.

Thanks to an excellent secondary Steel-typing, Scizor is an amazing Pokemon. After Mega Evolution, it becomes even better, but it can do just as well without Mega Evolving.
HeracrossBST: 500.

Heracross also does amazingly well after Mega Evolution. Even after losing its Ability Skill Link, it is capable of hitting very hard due to how multi-hit moves work in the game.

A-Tier

These Pokemon have some flaws that hold them back, but can be made up for with some team support:

PokemonReasoning
PinsirBST: 500.

Mega Pinsir is a decent physical attacker. However, it loses its Ability Aerilate, which turned its Normal-type moves into Flying-type ones and gave them a boost.

B-Tier

These Pokemon are decent picks but have some flaws that need the team to be built around them:

PokemonReasoning
ScolipedeBST: 485.

Mega Scolipede functions completely differently from its base form, losing a lot of Speed after Mega Evolving. Even with a boost to its bulk, this leaves it vulnerable.
BeedrillBST: 395.

Mega Beedrill becomes very fast and hits decently hard. However, even Mega Evolution did nothing to fix its fragility.

C-Tier

These Pokemon are not worth keeping on your team after the early game:

PokemonReasoning
VivillonBST: 411.

Only great for collecting purposes. It’s too weak to bring to a serious match.
AriadosBST: 400.

Also very frail and weak. Let Naveen be the only one who uses an Ariados on his team.
