Pokemon Legends Z-A has quite a few Fairy-types among its roster of Pokemon. The Fairy-type is generally considered to be one of the strongest types, thanks to multiple reasons. These include having some powerful offensive moves, strong defensive matchups, and countering the extremely powerful Dragon-types.

However, despite being such a powerful type, not all Fairy-type Pokemon live up to their reputation. Only a select few Fairy Pokemon can rise above the rest. This tier list will classify all of the Fairy-types in Legends Z-A from strongest to weakest to help you make a decision on who to use for your team.

Disclaimer: Pre-evolved Pokemon will be considered in the same tier as their post-evolution forms. This is because you will eventually be using their evolved forms. The exception to this would be branching evolution paths, which will be classified separately. Moreover, this will also take their Mega Evolutions into account.

S Tier

These are the strongest Fairy-types who can be very powerful for any team in Pokemon Legends Z-A:

PokemonReasoning
Meganium525 Base Stat Total (BST). Its stats are around the level expected from a Starter Pokemon. Meganium gains the Fairy-type upon Mega Evolving, taking it to the next level. On top of gaining significant Special Attack, it becomes bulkier than ever. Mega Meganium is extremely hard to kill and can deal huge damage with ease.
Clefable483 BST. While nothing impressive normally, its Mega Evolution makes it one of the strongest Fairy-types. It has an excellent moveset and a good stat spread all around.
Gardevoir518 BST. Gardevoir is one of the go to Fairy-type Pokemon. It has some of the highest offensive abilities of all Fairy-types, and with Mega Evolution, its damage becomes outright absurd.
Xerneas680 BST. Xerneas is likely the strongest Fairy-type in Legends Z-A. On top of having the highest stats, its signature move Geomancy raises its Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed. Almost nothing can stand up to the might of a boosted Xerneas.
Eternal Flower Floette551 BST. AZ’s Floette is one of the strongest Fairy-types, having very high stats that go even further with Mega Evolution. Its offensive power is enormous, and it is certainly worthy of the highest tier.

A Tier

The A-Tier of Fairy-type Pokemon are as follows:

PokemonReasoning
Florges552 BST. While its stats are very high, its stat spread is a little lackluster. And to top it off, it does not have a Mega Evolution. While this does let you use a different item, it is still a flaw holding it back.
Altaria490 BST. Mega Altaria has very well balanced stats. However, the absence of abilities in Legends Z-A hits Altaria particularly hard, as it loses Pixilate. This lowers its offensive capabilities significantly, holding it back from the highest tier.
Sylveon525 BST. Sylveon has a fairly high BST. But its offensive abilities are sadly lacking for the same reason as Altaria. Not to mention its lack of Physical Bulk. But it is stilll a powerful Pokemon all around.
Mawile380 BST. Mawile, in its base form, is incredibly weak. Fortunately, its Mega Evolution gives it a significant boost, with an excellent stat spread. It also has one of the best type combinations in the game as a Steel/Fairy.

B Tier

These are the B-Tier Fairy-type Pokemon in Legends Z-A:

PokemonReasoning
Aromatisse462 BST. Unimpressive stats with a lack of any good offensive options make this Pokemon a fairly weak Fairy-type.
Klefki470 BST. Only somewhat better stats than Aromatisse, Klefki at least has a good typing to make up for its otherwise weak nature.

C Tier

These are the weakest Fairy-types in Pokemon Legends Z-A:

PokemonReasoning
Dedenne431 BST. While its typing is not bad by any means, Dedenne itself is exceedingly weak. Lacking both damage and survivability, it cannot make use of the few good moves it has.
Audino445 BST. Audino gains the Fairy-type upon Mega Evolving. The only issue is that Mega Evolving it is largely a waste. The only real use Audino has is through Wish. But since switching is limited in competitive play, it loses value even further. You would be better off Mega Evolving someone else.
Slurpuff480 BST. Slurpuff has pretty balanced stats all around. The only problem is that since the stat total is so low, all its individual stats are also low. It does not stand out in any capacity.
Carbink500 BST. While Carbink’s BST is high, it is focused almost solely into its Defense and Special Defense. It has some use as a set-up Pokemon, but is otherwise too weak to consider.
