You will face Zach at the end of the Battling in the Z-A Royale main mission. You will need a Challenger’s Ticket to start the promotion match. Zach does not specialize in any particular type. Instead, he only has three low-level Pokemon. You can easily defeat most of these by using a super effective move or two.

For now, you do not have access to a wide variety of Pokemon. Since the only accessible Wild Zone is Wild Zone 1, you will have to make do with this selection of Pokemon. Fortunately, you will mostly find everything you need here. Two of his Pokemon are weak to Electric types (Pidgey and Slowpoke).

You can find two Electric Pokemon in Wild Zone 1, those being Mareep and Pichu (you will have to break some rocks using Rock Smash to access this area). Pichu can evolve into a Pikachu of your own with high friendship. Both of these will be great against Zach. Bunnelby is another great addition to this. It can learn Mud Shot at level 7. This is a Ground type move and will be super effective on Zach’s last Pokemon.

One of the advantages of fighting against Zach is that he only has three Pokemon. Meanwhile, you could come in with multiple Electric types and even two Pokemon knowing Mud Shot to counter Pikachu. You can also try to get to level three of Mable’s Research to get the TM for Mud Shot. Although this might be overkill, it is still a valid strategy. Lastly, you can buy a Paralyze Heal from Nurse Joy if you are struggling against Thunder Wave.
