The first way a trainer can find an Absol is to complete the Chase That Mysterious Pokemon! Main quest. This quest involves tracking down a wild Rogue Mega Absol. After completing the mission, the Pokemon will automatically join your party as a reward and as an expression of gratitude.

However, if you prefer to catch one in the wild while in free roam, your best chance is to explore the rooftops of Jaune Sector 5. It is worth noting that trainers must first complete the main quest. Essentially, more Absols will spawn once the quest is finished, allowing trainers to own multiple variants. There is also a slim chance of an Alpha variant spawning in the area.

These variants are much tougher and stronger in general than regular ones. Trainers should prepare their party before attempting to face and catch one.

Can Absol Evolve?

Absol is one of the rare few Pokemon that do not belong to any evolutionary lineup. However, trainers can transform Absol into its Mega version through the use of a Mega Stone. Mega Evolutions can help trainers in tight situations or when they need an extra push to win battles.

Fortunately, it is only a temporary change, and Absol will return to its original form later. Any Pokemon that goes through Mega Evolution will revert back once its gauge runs out.
