Learn how to get a Gengar in Pokemon Legends Z-A in the wild. Usually, this Pokemon can only be found by trading a Haunter to evolve it.
In Pokemon Legends Z-A, it is possible to get Gengar in the wild without trading. As a trade evolution, Gengar usually does not spawn in the wild. Instead, players have to trade their Haunter, the pre-evolution of Gengar, to someone to evolve it. However, Legends Z-A has made this a lot simpler by letting players catch a Gengar in their own game.
How To Get Gengar in the Wild in Pokemon Legends Z-A
There are two places where you can get wild Gengar in Pokemon Legends Z-A. As such, this should provide you with ample chances to get your own Gengar without needing to trade a Haunter.
The “Troublemakers” the Rust Syndicate Sends You To Deal With Are the Gengar Line
As part of Main Mission 20: A Request From the Rust Syndicate, you are sent to take care of a bunch of “troublemakers” in an old building. Except these troublemakers turn out to be Pokemon. Specifically, two wild Gengar and a Gastly.
You can catch these Pokemon as part of this mission, letting you attain a Gengar without trading with another player. Nevertheless, this will not be an easy task as the two Gengar are quite powerful for this point in the game and can be difficult to catch safely without knocking them out.
Alpha Gengar in Wild Zone 20
If you failed to capture the wild Gengar as part of that mission, there’s another option in the post-game. After the main story ends, Wild Zone 20 opens up. In the centre of the Wild Zone, there will be two Alpha Pokemon at all times. Keep travelling there until one of the Pokemon that spawns in the center is an Alpha Gengar. There are no limitations on when it spawns. Gengar can spawn either in the day or at night, completely at random.
