You can get all three Kalos Starters, those being Fennekin, Froakie and Chespin within Pokemon Legends Z-A through various side missions.
You can get all the Kalos starters (Fennekin, Froakie and Chespin) within Pokemon Legends Z-A. However, you must progress the main story to a certain point, and then complete three side missions (one for each). This guide will discuss the locations of each of these quests, and explore how to complete them so you can obtain all the three Kalos starters, and eventually Mega Evolve them.
How To Get All Kalos Starters in Pokemon Legends Z-A (Froakie, Fennekin and Chespin)
You must complete progress the main story until you finish Main Mission 05, The City in the Shadow of Prism Tower. After this, you get various side missions across the city unlocked, which includes the one you need for these three Kalos starter Pokemon. The missions are:
- Chespin: Side Mission 07 A Feisty Chespin
- Fennekin: Side Mission 08 Get Well, Fennekin
- Froakie: Side Mission 09 A Challenge from Froakie
How To Get Chespin in Pokemon Legends Z-A
You will see a Chespin blocking a taxi from passing, as in the above image. Simply approach the NPC next to the car to initiate the side mission. However, be careful, this is no ordinary Chespin as everytime you defeat it, it starts fighting again with its health fully replenished. Use a Flying or Fire type Pokemon to make this battle go by easily.
You must defeat it three times, and finally, the Chespin will be calmed down by the NPC, and will be willing to join your side.
How To Get Fennekin in Pokemon Legends Z-A
You can get this side mission from an exclamation mark located in the Magenta Sector 2 area, as seen in the above image. This quest is longer than the Chespin, and requires you to do the following:
- Speak to the herbalist at Cafe Classe on Vernal Avenue.
- Search for the Revitalizing Twig in Wild Zone 5. Be careful the area is guarded by a high level Alpha Whirlipede.
- Take the Twig back to Fennekin and the mission will be complete, and Fennekin will join your party.
How To Get Froakie in Pokemon Legends Z-A
This is arguably the hardest challenge of the three. Head to North Boulevard street near Cafe Action (exact location seen in the image above). Talk to the worker there to start the side mission. This is a parkour course you must complete within a limited time. However, do not rush the challenge, take it slow and steady and you will likely reach it with enough time.
If you fall, you must wait until the time expires or talk to the NPC again to give up. Then you must restart the challenge until you get it right. However, don’t celebrate even if you complete the challenge once. Now you must do two more parkour courses. This means you must complete three parkour courses in total, after which Froakie will join you.
