Before anything else, it is worth noting that you can evolve your Larvitar into a Pupitar and eventually into a Tyranitar. Similar to every other mainline Pokemon game, trainers must use these Pokemon to gain XP and level up to evolve them. Alternatively, there are shorter ways to get them to evolve, such as using Rare Candy to level up or evolution items.

To find a Larvitar, you must head for the rooftops of Vert Sector 2 or Bleu Sector 7. This is one of the last few areas that are explorable, and you must be careful hopping across rooftops.

Pupitar and Tyranitar Can Only Be Obtained Through Evolution

As for the more advanced versions of this Pokemon, they do not spawn anywhere in the overworld of Lumiose City. The only way to get a Pupitar is to let your current Larvitar evolve into it. You must compete in battles to gain enough experience points to reach level 30. Once enough levels are obtained, your Larvitar will evolve into a Pupitar.

After evolving into a Pupitar, it will evolve into a Tyranitar once it reaches level 55. However, if you want to have all three in your party, we recommend getting three Larvitars. Fortunately, they will spawn after a few in-game minutes or after you step out into the Wild Zones.
