Mawile is a Steel/Fairy-type Pokemon in Pokemon Legends: Z-A that isn’t easy to catch. It is the #133 entry in the Pokedex and can be caught either during a side mission or in the wild. Moreover, Mawile isn’t part of any evolutionary line, so leveling it properly is key to utilizing its special attacks.
Since Mawile already has high defense stats, it’s best to go with either Impish or Careful natures. This further increases its defense, allowing it to act as a tank in your team composition. In this guide, we provide a breakdown of how to get Mawile in Pokemon Legends Z-A.
How To Catch Mawile in Pokemon Legends Z-A
As previously stated, you can catch Mawile during Side Mission 77, called Catch Mawile If You Can. You receive this side mission from Reu in Pokemon Legends: Z-A in the Magenta Sector 3 region. It is unlocked after completing Main Mission 26, called An Invitation from the SBC.

During this mission, Mawile can be found on one of the rooftops near the Electrical Substation in Wild Zone 14. To enter the building, you complete a scaffolding course right next to the Pokemon’s location. Lastly, after reaching the rooftop, you can complete the side mission by catching Mawile.
How To Find Mawile in the Wild
The easiest way to get Mawile is still by completing Side Mission 77. However, if you wish to catch one in the wild, you have to travel to the Wild Zone 17 area in Pokemon Legends Z-A. Access to this region is granted only after completing Main Mission 24, known as Reaching Rank C. Mawile can be found on the rooftop of Wild Zone 17 at Level 56.
