Rogue Mega Altaria is a Level 53 boss, so you also have to be at Level 53 to face the boss. The higher your level, the better. Once you meet the boss at its level, you then need to watch for the following attacks:
- Dragon Pulse: The boss let out a scream that shoots a beam. This beam is slow with a long charge-up time, so you have plenty of time to sidestep it.
- Moonblast: Altaria will take to the air and launch an orb right at you. This orb is incredibly slow but hits very hard. Move out of the way to avoid this.
- Whirlwind: The boss will take to the air once again, but this time will summon several mini tornadoes. These tornadoes are very fast, so you’ll have to dash around the edge of the arena to avoid them.
- Brave Bird: Altaria will charge right across the diameter of the arena. This is by far its fastest attack, but it only deals damage across a thin line. Avoid this line to stay safe.
The boss is exceptional at throwing you off your game by mixing excruciatingly slow attacks with fast ones. The trick to surviving is to be on constant alert and read the moves as they come. All of Altaria’s attacks are announced and have some charge-up time, so it is important to use the charge-up window to set up your escape plan. Once the boss settles down after an attack, use that window to exploit its weakness and win.
