In this tier list, you will learn about the best Ice-type Pokemon in Legends Z-A that you should consider using on your team.

Despite their usefulness offensively, Ice-types are not great overall. They only resist themselves and are weak to Fire-, Fighting-, Rock-, and Steel-types. Still, some Ice-types can shine, courtesy of their offensive stats and other traits. So let us see which Ice-types you should consider using on your Pokemon Legends Z-A team.
Disclaimer: This tier list will only consider fully evolved Pokemon as they represent the species reaching their full potential. In the case of Snorunt evolving into either Glalie or Froslass we will tier each evolved form separately. Finally, if a Pokemon can Mega Evolve, that will also be taken into account.
All Ice-Type Pokemon in Legends Z-A Tier List

Here is the complete tier list for all Ice-type Pokemon in-game:
| Tier | Pokemon |
|---|---|
| S-Tier | Glaceon and Froslass |
| A-Tier | Abomasnow and Glalie |
| B-Tier | Avalugg |
| C-Tier | Aurorus, Vanilluxe, and Delibird |
S-Tier
These are the best Ice-types in the game, with very few flaws holding them back:
| Pokemon | Reasoning |
|---|---|
| Glaceon | BST (Base Stat Total): 525. This Eeveelution greatly benefits from Legends Z-A’s combat mechanics and performs amazingly. It can even take neutral hits and retaliate with powerful Ice moves off its 130 Special Attack stat. |
| Froslass | BST: 480. Froslass’ new Mega Evolution lets it move faster and hit much harder. Having a secondary typing in Ghost is great, as that typing is one of the best in the meta. |
A-Tier

While these Ice-types are not as good as those in S-Tier, their ability to Mega Evolve places them above the rest:
| Pokemon | Reasoning |
|---|---|
| Abomasnow | BST: 494. Mega Abomasnow is decently powerful but is held back by both the lack of its Ability Snow Warning as well as its 4x weakness to Fire. |
| Glalie | BST: 480. Mega Glalie not having its Ability Refrigerate robs it of powerful Ice-type physical STAB moves, leading it to rely on Icicle Crash instead. However, it can still use special Ice moves like Ice Beam and Blizzard. |
B-Tier

This Pokemon has a lot of flaws, but still has some unique traits:
| Pokemon | Reasoning |
|---|---|
| Avalugg | BST: 514. Despite having a defensively poor typing in mono Ice, Avalugg’s sky-high Defense stat of 184, combined with moves like Curse and Recover, actually gives it a more than decent niche in the meta. |
C-Tier
These Pokemon represent the worst traits of Ice-type Pokemon, being frail and not very strong. While they can be used, they’ll bring more harm than good:
| Pokemon | Reasoning |
|---|---|
| Aurorus | BST: 521. This Pokemon is frail and has two 4x weaknesses to Fighting and Steel. Making it very hard to keep this fossil alive. |
| Vanilluxe | BST: 535. Lacks any notable coverage outside of the Steel-type move Flash Cannon and Freeze Dry for Water-types. Struggles to impact the meta in any way. |
| Delibird | BST: 330. Delibird is delightfully bad. Catch one for your Pokedex and forget about it. |
