Find out how to finish the Investigating with Shuppet quest in Pokemon Legends Z-A, including Shuppet locations and rewards.
Investigating with Shuppet is Side Quest 66 in Pokemon Legends Z-A. Here, you help Rancun, a police officer from the Bleu District, who needs a Ghost-type Pokemon to help him in his investigations. The quest opens up once you progress far enough in the main story and reach Rank D.
To start the quest, you need to complete Main Mission 20 called A Request from the Rust Syndicate. You should also have already defeated the three Rogue Mega Pokemon, Mawile, Barbaracle, and Ampharos. Once you hit Rank D, you can find Rancun waiting for help.
Go to the Bleu District and head to Bleu Plaza. Rancun stands near the Sector 3 side, close to a street corner. Talk to him, and he will tell you about his need for a Ghost-type partner. That conversation officially starts the quest.

Catch a Shuppet
Talk to Rancun in Bleu Plaza. He explains that Shuppet can sense emotions that normal humans might miss. He wants you to catch one so it can assist him in his work.
You can find Shuppet at night in either Wild Zone 7 or Wild Zone 15. If it is daytime, rest on a bench at a Pokemon Center to switch to night.
In Wild Zone 7, Shuppet floats around the courtyard area, making it the easiest spot to catch one. Enter from the southeast entrance for a quick route. Wild Zone 15 also has Shuppet, but it appears near the forest center where an Alpha Banette roams, so it can be risky.
Try sneaking up on Shuppet before throwing a Pokeball, as it tends to get startled easily. Carry several Pokeballs in case it breaks free a few times.
Bring Shuppet to Rancun
Once you have caught a Shuppet, return to Bleu Plaza and give it to Rancun. He will immediately test its abilities to sense emotions. Follow it west of Cafe Cyclone, near Coulant Waterway. You will see an event unfold where Shuppet’s instincts lead to a surprising discovery.
It turns out the negative feelings came from Rancun’s wife. She was upset because he was spending too much time at work. Rancun finally understands how his long hours have affected her. Then he promises to balance his work and family life better.

Once you finish the quest, you receive 3,000 Poke Dollars and five Exp. Candy M. The rewards are helpful for leveling your Pokemon, but what stands out more is the story itself.
