One of the common questions from fans is whether Pokemon Legends Z-A is compatible with the online cloud service, Pokemon HOME. This service lets trainers link their Nintendo Account and transfer Pokemon between various compatible titles. It’s a nice feature to have if you enjoy playing multiple Pokemon games and want to expand your Pokedex entries.

While most modern titles are compatible with Pokemon Home, the same cannot be said with Legends Z-A, at least for the time being. For now, the new title does not support this cloud service feature. But it is confirmed to be available soon.

Yes, it is confirmed that trainers who play Pokemon Legends Z-A will be able to connect with Pokemon HOME. The feature is set for a release sometime in 2026. While confirmed for release, Nintendo has yet to provide an exact date as to when this feature will be available.

We will update this article when The Pokémon Company or Nintendo provides more details. This includes potential release dates for the Pokemon HOME compatibility for Legends Z-A, further restrictions, and more. In the meantime, players will have to enjoy the game as it is.

Which Pokemon Games Are Compatible With Pokemon HOME?

Pokémon HOME serves as the central hub for transferring and storing Pokemon across various titles in the series. As of now, the service is compatible with a wide range of games from both the Nintendo Switch and mobile platforms. These include:

  • Pokemon Legends Z-A (Coming Soon)
  • Pokemon Sword and Shield
  • Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
  • Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee and Pikachu
  • Pokemon Legends: Arceus
  • Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
  • Pokemon GO
  • Pokemon from Nintendo 3DS titles stored in Pokemon Bank can be moved to Pokemon HOME.

Each Pokemon game supports different transfer directions. Some allow two-way transfers, while others, like Legends: Arceus and soon Legends Z-A, support only one-way transfers. Keep in mind that only Pokemon native to or compatible with a specific title can be successfully moved into it.

Pokemon HOME Limitations

That said, there are some limitations to keep in mind when transferring Pokemon using the online cloud service. Here is a quick rundown:

  • You’ll eventually be able to bring compatible Pokemon from older games into Legends Z-A when the feature finally goes live. This is good news for trainers wanting to start Legends Z-A with their favorite team members.
  • However, once you start transferring, those Pokemon are locked into Legends Z-A and will no longer be able to go back to their original game. This requires you to be strategic about which Pokemon you want to transfer. If you ever want to use that Pokemon in the old game again, you’ll lose that option.

In other words, the transfer system is more restrictive than many earlier games. This could change how you approach team building, long-term planning, or competitive play across Pokemon games.
