This Pokemon Legends Z-A walkthrough will take you through the Steadfast As Steel side quest in Bleu District.
Over the course of Pokemon Legends Z-A’s story, you’ll make a legend of yourself and earn both the ire and admiration of those around you. In the Steadfast As Steel side quest, you’ll get to see the ire of the people come into play. A Rust Syndicate Grunt is fed up with your growing popularity and wants to see what the hype is all about. She uses Steel-type Pokemon exclusively, which can make her a difficult opponent to beat if you’re not ready beforehand. In this guide, we shall go over the entire quest, help you find the starting location, and pick a roster for you that will help win the battle against her.

How To Complete Steadfast as Steel in Pokemon Legends Z-A
Starting Location
You begin this quest by talking to a Grunt on Bleu Street in the Bleu District. You’ll only find this Grunt here after you’re through with Main Mission 35, Reaching Rank A. Once that’s done, head over to this district and talk to the Grunt.
The Grunt will talk to you mockingly, stating that you’ve earned quite the reputation with the Rust Syndicate. She’s heard talk about you being strong and wishes to see what the hype is all about. She’ll then mock you further, stating that you don’t have to fight right away and can face her whenever you’re ready. Wrap this conversation up to begin the quest.

Fighting the Grunt
Talk to the Grunt to begin the battle. She will use the following Pokemon against you:
- Excadrill (Level 55)
- Steelix (Level 55)
- Mawile (Level 55)
- Scizor (Level 56)
As you can see, the Grunt uses only Steel-type Pokemon in battle. We’re going to exploit this to our advantage. Since Steel-type Pokemon are weak to Fighting, Fire, and Ground-type Pokemon, we suggest bringing a roster with the following:
- Mega Emboar
- Mega Pyroar
- Mega Houndoom
We also suggest bringing in the likes of Blastoise and Starmie. They are Water-type, which you can use to target the Ground-type nature of Excadrill and Steelix. This roster should be good enough to get you through the fight. Also, make it a point to level your Pokemon up to Level 55 or above, since that’s the level the Grunt’s Pokemon are at. Exploit her roster’s weaknesses to win the battle, complete the quest, and earn the following as rewards:
- 3000 Poke Dollars
- 1x Metal Coat
- 2x Exp. Candy M
