How To Complete The One That Gives in Pokemon Legends Z-A

Once you complete The Infinite Z-A Royale mission, head to the Pokemon Research Lab. Once inside, ride the elevator up and make your way to Mable’s office. There will be a cutscene where she will explain to you what your next mission is.
You need to complete three research tasks relating to defeating or capturing Alpha Pokemon in various locations.
Defeat Alpha Steelix
Your first target is an Alpha Steelix that you can find in Wild Zone 3. Simply head to the area either by walking or using fast travel to reach your destination. Upon reaching the area, you will immediately see your target Pokemon. Alpha Steelix is weak to Fire, Water, and Fighting-types.
It’s best to avoid using Poison and Electric-type Pokemon, as it is immune to those elements.
Defeat Alpha Galade
Afterwards, make your way to Wild Zone 5 to hunt an Alpha Gallade. You will need to do a bit of exploring to find your target. Check on the small patch of grass west of the area. Alpha Gallade is weak to Flying, Ghost, and Fairy-types. This Pokemon doesn’t have immunity to specific types but is quite resistant against Fighting and Rock.
Defeat Alpha Pangoro
For the last research task, you need to make your way to Wild Zone 9 to hunt down an Alpha Pangoro. Once you reach the area, you will spot a ladder leading to an elevated area. Climb the ladder to reach your target. Alpha Pangoro is 4x weak to Fairy-type Pokemon like Gardevoir. Take note that this Pokemon is immune to Physical-types.

Catch Xerneas

Once you have gathered all the data, head back to Marble in the Pokemon Research Lab. With enough data, she tells you the location of where Xerness might appear. Make your way to Wild Zone 11. You can access the area through the northern side entrance. Fortunately, there is a marker you can follow so you won’t get lost.
Reaching the marked location, there will be a Xerneas waiting for you to capture. Due to being a Fairy-type Pokemon, it is weak to Steel and Poison. However, it is immune to Dragon-type, so keep that in mind.
If you fail to capture Xerneas, you can always retry as many times as you want. Once you have a successful catch, you complete The One That Gives mission in Pokemon Legends Z-A.
