Pokemon Legends Z-A is right around the corner, so you might want to start planning your team sometime soon. And even if you do have a team in mind for the end, not every Pokemon can be obtained early in the game. Only some of the Pokemon in the game will be available in the beginning.
Among these early-game Pokemon, some are much more impactful than the others. These will be more useful in the long run until you get better options. Here are the early-game Pokémon that may have the biggest impact in Pokemon Legends Z-A.
Early-Game Pokemon With the Most Impact in Pokémon Legends Z-A
It is currently unknown which Pokemon will be available to you during the beginning of the game. But we can still make some guesses at the types of Pokemon that you may find and should use.
Starter Pokémon
The three starter Pokemon for Legends Z-A have been revealed to be Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile. Which starter Pokemon you want is ultimately up to you, as all of them are useful in different circumstances. The rest of your team composition is heavily influenced by the starter you pick and vice versa.
For example, if you wish to use Talonflame or a different fire-type Pokémon later down the line, then you probably won’t need Tepig. Or if you plan on using a Gyarados or similar later, then you might not want a Totodile. Regardless of which starter you choose in the end, they will certainly have the most impact on your team later.
Fletchling
The regional bird of the Kalos region, Fletchling, evolves into the powerful Talonflame. Talonflame is one of the most powerful Pokemon in Kalos and is a fire-type Pokemon. Apart from the fire starter, fire-type Pokemon are generally not found early in the game.
So, Fletchling is an excellent early choice if you didn’t pick Tepig. Apart from its utility, its powerful evolved form is just the icing on the cake. Because of these reasons, Fletchling will be one of the best early-game choices in Pokemon Legends Z-A.
Mareep
On its own, Mareep is not a particularly impressive Pokemon. It does not learn any powerful electric moves until its later levels, but its ability, Static, is quite powerful. However, what is most useful about this Pokemon is that it evolves very early. Starting from level 15, Mareep evolves into Flaaffy, gaining a significant advantage over early-game enemies. It further evolves into Ampharos, though that comes later at level 30.
But Flaaffy’s power is quite impressive by itself. It learns Take Down at level 20, Electro Ball at 25, and other useful status moves. Among early-game Pokemon, Mareep is one of the best options. Those were some of the most impactful early-game Pokemon in Legends Z-A.
