Pokemon Worlds 2025 is taking place between August 15 and 17, 2025. As such, it is important to take a look at the best decks in the current standard format that are expected to leave an impression at the highest level. These decks have seen high usage at recent tournaments and are poised to leave a mark at the biggest stage of the current Pokemon TCG meta.

Top 5 Pokemon TCG Decks That Could Dominate Worlds 2025

These five deck are likely to see the highest usage at the upcoming tournament:

  • Raging Bolt ex
  • Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex
  • Dragapult ex
  • Gholdengo ex
  • Gardevoir ex

5) Raging Bolt Ex

Raging Bolt ex is one of two Dragon-type decks that have been dominating the current Pokemon TCG meta. In combination with baby Raging Bolt, this deck is capable of taking very early KOs. Some of the cards that are commonly used in this deck include Iron Leaves ex to deal with Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex, Crispin for Energy acceleration, and Teal Mask Ogerpon ex to boost the power of Raging Bolt ex’s Bellowing Thunder.

4) Marnie’s Grimmsnarl Ex

Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex has risen as a counter to the dominant Gardevoir ex. This card is not only an amazing Darkness Energy accelerant thanks to its ability Punk Up, but also deals considerable damage with its move Shadow Bullet. For only two Darkness Energy, Shadow Bullet deals massive damage to the Defending Pokemon as well as chip damage to the Bench. A typical Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex deck utilizes Froslass and Munkidori for further chip damage.

3) Dragapult Ex

Dragapult ex has multiple variants that can be expected to be played at Worlds 2025. There’s the one with Dusknoir, who uses its ability, Cursed Blast, to deal massive damage at the cost of KOing itself. There’s another version where Dragapult ex is teamed up with Charizard ex and Chi-Yu for a way to deal with Gholdengo ex. However, most decks have a similar playstyle. Dreepy evolves into Drakloak for its ability Recon Directive, which can help you get an extra card from the top of your deck.

Then, after evolving into Dragapult ex, the card spams the move Phantom Dive to deal massive damage as well as high chip damage, which it can spread amongst the opponent’s Bench. Common cards in this deck include Budew for Item locking, Technical Machine: Evolution for fast multiple evolutions, and Munkidori for redirecting any damage to Dragapult ex.

2) Gholdengo Ex

As a deck focused on discarding cards, Gholdengo ex can be a hard sell to some players. Especially since it means this deck will have to carry a lot of Basic Energy cards just to use Gholdengo ex’s ‘Make It Rain’ over and over. However, Gholdengo ex is extremely useful not only as a draw engine but also as an amazing damage dealer. It has also received a boost from the new Genesect ex from the Black Bolt expansion, which lets players find Gholdengo ex far quicker.

1) Gardevoir Ex

Gardevoir ex might be the best deck in the meta right now, especially after its performance at NAIC 2025. This deck is focused around Gardevoir ex’s ability Psychic Embrace, which acts as an Energy accelerant. Even the damage counters attached to Gardevoir ex and its allies are redirected via Munkidori’s Adrena-Brain. There’s also Jellicent ex from White Flare, whose Oceanic Curse locks the opponent’s Item and Tool usage (though it hasn’t seen a lot of use outside of Japan). Still, Gardevoir ex is the deck to beat at Worlds 2025.
