Archaludon ex is an impressive card on the surface. A high HP stat of 300 and a move that deals 220 damage for three Metal Energy, two of which it can attach from the discard pile as it enters the field—this card is well prepared. However, there is still a bit of a resource grind in setting this card up. As a result, Archaludon ex is paired with Pecharunt and other Poison-spreading cards to whittle down the opponent before the skyscraper is finally open to the public.

The strategy around this deck involves poisoning both your and the opponent’s Active Pokemon in the beginning until Archaludon ex is ready to attack. Several cards in this deck work really well with the Poison strategy, including Archaludon ex’s Basic from Duraludon. Duraludon’s move Raging Hammer does more damage for the damage counters attached to it. This damage, combined with Binding Mochi and all the indirect Poison damage from cards like Pecharunt and Perilous Jungle, weakens the opponent to the point where Archaludon ex can clean up.

Ideal Starting Hand
Duraludon is very useful early on and should be placed in the Active Spot if available. Additionally, Carmine and Squawkabilly ex are cards that can be used on the first turn to discard either a bad hand or discard a few Metal Energy for Archaludon ex to attach later. Finally, setting up Latias ex and Brute Bonnet on the Bench would be useful as well to allow quick retreats for your Basic Pokemon and spread Poison.

Here is the strategy of this deck:
- Set either Duraludon or Pecharunt in your Active Spot. Brute Bonnet should be placed on the Bench with an Ancient Booster Energy Capsule so as to poison both Active Pokemon.
- Either attack with Duraludon or keep Pecharunt in the Active Spot to deal more damage to Poisoned Pokemon. Set up the Stadium Card Perilous Jungle to further spread Poison damage on the opponent.
- Evolve Archaludon ex when you have two Basic Metal Energy in your discard pile. Use its ability Assemble Alloy to attach that Energy to the card so that this Pokemon ex can start attacking. If Archaludon ex is poisoned by Brute Bonnet, attach the Pokemon Tool Binding Mochi for more damage.
