While Terapagos ex is nowadays mostly seen as part of Tera Box decks, it can still play the role of a core attacker in the Pokemon TCG. This deck is more focused on stopping damage than dealing it, with cards like Bravery Charm and Bouffalant making it hard to deal with Terapagos directly. So, let’s take a look at the best possible deck with Terapagos ex at its core.

Pokemon TCG Best Terapagos Ex Deck Guide Overview

Terapagos ex works similarly to a Tera Box deck, especially with cards like Noctowl, Crispin, and Area Zero Underdepths playing similar roles in attaching Energy and expanding the Bench. However, in addition to those cards, Terapagos ex loves the support of Bouffalant.

If at least two of these cards are in play, all Colorless cards, like Terapagos ex itself, take 60 less damage from attacks. Attach a Tool like Bravery Charm to further increase Terapagos ex’s health by 50 HP and this card becomes hard to remove.

How To Play the Best Terapagos Ex Deck in Pokemon TCG

Ideal Starting Hand

You want Hoothoot, Terapagos ex, and Bouffalant in your starting hand for the first turn. If Terapagos ex is in play, then Area Zero Underdepths is also splendid to have. Fan Rotom is also only useful on the first turn to draw some Colorless Pokemon at 100 HP or lower, like Hoothoot, Noctowl, and Bouffalant.

Here’s the strategy for this deck:

  • Set up Terapagos ex in the Active Spot, while adding at least two Bouffalant on the Bench.
  • Use Noctowl and Crispin in combination to quickly add a bunch of Basic Energy to Terapagos ex. Noctowl can also find a Bravery Charm to give it some more bulk.
  • Set up Area Zero Underdepths so that Terapagos ex’s first move Unified Beatdown gets stronger. Its second move should also be used against decks that rely on non-Colorless Basic Pokemon.

As a Colorless deck Terapagos ex will not deal double damage to any types. But the presence of LIllie’s Clefairy ex will give Dragapult ex some trouble.

Milotic ex stops Terapagos ex cold. So when facing it, the deck has to rely on less reliable attackers like Bouffalant or wait for Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex to be ready near the endgame.
