Trade Tokens, the currency needed to trade higher rarity cards, are being removed from Pokemon TCG Pocket.
The most common way to collect cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket is to open Booster Packs. However, oftentimes, you don’t want to open 100 packs looking for one obscure card. In these desperate times, the trade feature becomes your best friend.
However, the trade mechanic in Pokemon TCG Pocket requires the use of a certain currency, called Trade Tokens, to trade higher rarity cards. This often limits the player’s ability to trade cards freely, as Trade Tokens are quite difficult to obtain. This will change in the latest update from the developers.

When Will Trade Tokens Be Removed From Pokemon TCG Pocket?

The new update, which will arrive on July 29, 2025 (11:00 PM PDT), will give players more freedom by overhauling the entire trade system. This includes the removal of Trade Tokens from the game.
There are many other changes also being implemented alongside the removal of Trade Tokens. However, if you still have Trade Tokens left, you will be compensated by being able to trade them in exchange for various items.

New Trade Features Being Implemented
Instead of Trade Tokens, you will now be able to trade using Shinedust. Moreover, starting from this update, you will receive double the amount of Shinedust when obtaining a copy of an already registered card. Additionally, you will also be able to add up to 20 cards to your wishlist, three of which can be displayed on your profile.
You can exchange your currently held Trade Tokens for the following items:

| 10x Shinedust | 1 | Unlimited |
| 100x Shinedust | 10 | Unlimited |
| 1,000x Shinedust | 100 | Unlimited |
Lastly, due to this update, the trade feature will be unavailable from July 24, 2025 (11:00 PM PDT) until the update begins. After the update ends, Trade Tokens will no longer be required for trades, and you can also utilize the newly implemented wishlist feature.
