Despite the trading feature being introduced quite recently in Pokemon TCG Pocket, it is already getting an overhaul. The developers have made a good decision while moving forward with the game by removing the in-game currency required to trade Pokemon cards. These are Trade Tokens, which received negative community feedback since their induction into the card game.

These tokens are now being removed in the future, as announced through various official sources. Creatures Inc. and DeNA are going to remove the Trade Token currency entirely. Here is what else you should know.

What Did the Pokemon TCG Pocket Announcement Say?

The official announcement said that trade tokens will be removed from the game entirely. Instead, in their place shinedust will be the currency used to trade cards. At present, shinedust is obtained from getting duplicate cards or bought from the shop.

This shinedust currency is also used for obtaining flairs for any cards you want. This change is sure to be appreciated by the fan base, as shinedust is an easier resource to obtain when compared to trade tokens.

Additionally, the developers have also stated that they will increase the amount of shinedust which can be obtained by players, since it will be used for flairs and trades going forward. Lastly, players do not need to worry if they have any trade tokens leftover. Any extra trade tokens can be converted into shinedust once the tokens are removed from the game.

These tokens are being removed from the game due to the community feedback. Currently, it is quite difficult to obtain this resource, as it requires you to destroy a duplicate card in your collection.

Naturally, players would be unhappy with this method of obtaining a currency to trade. Thus, Trade Tokens being removed from the game entirely is a good step for the future, as players will gain shinedust much easier than trade tokens.

Finally, the announcement teased future updates which may involve trading two-star rarity cards and promo cards. Players should keep an eye out for those. That was everything to know regarding the latest Pokemon TCG Pocket announcement on the removal of trade tokens.
