Twitch streamer and FaZe Clan member Nick “Lacy” announced a capped subathon for the rest of 2025 until his timer runs out. Lacy mentioned that each subscriber will add one minute to the counter. At the time of writing, the streamer has to commit to 28 hours of streaming. Each sub will be added to the counter, and he would need another 43,000 subscribers to make it to the end of January.

On his first day of the subathon, Lacy is going to find an abandoned haunted building with fellow streamers Bryce “Arky” and Yugi2x. With an average viewership of 18,000 viewers so far, many on social media and his chat feel that Lacy will not make it to the one-year mark.

The longest subathon on Twitch to date was started by Emilycc. The stream started over three years ago, and it is still live. If Lacy is successful with his year-long subathon, he will make it to the top five longest subathons to date.

The FaZe Clan Member’s Previous Subathon Lasted 15 Minutes

Lacy attempted a subathon on December 15, 2024, but it ended unsuccessfully. It lasted only 15 minutes before he had to end his stream. Towards the end of the stream, the FaZe Clan member started crying while telling his viewers to sub to him.

After the unsuccessful attempt at a subathon, Lacy is back to try again. He said on X:

“I wanna stream every day. I don’t wanna miss a day. So how can I do that but stay on my grind? So how can I do that but stay on my grind…right? This year 2025, I will be doing the first-ever year-long subathon. I will not be ending stream the entire year.”

Lacy is not the first to attempt a year-long subathon. Streamers EmilyCC, SweatyPedals, Beard_Hub, and Ryanisiffy have all successfully completed year-long subathons.

Lacy Claimed He Was Affected by Twitch’s “Adpocalypse”

Multiple content creators reported that Twitch is cutting down ad revenue on the platform. FaZe Clan’s Lacy was one of the streamers who said that his revenue dropped from $10,000 a day to $2,000. During a live stream on November 15, 2024, he said:

“My ad revenue went from $10,000 plus, at some point, per day to now, like, two thousand dollars a day. So, from someone who’s making upwards of five figures a day, now only making two thousand dollars a day of ad revenue. Something’s wrong. Something’s going on where my ad revenue is not correct and it’s not what it should be.”

The streamer then said he would quit Twitch if the platform did not correct the issue. Other streamers reported up to 95% drops in ad revenue as well. Twitch streamer and Counter-Logic Gaming CEO Devin Nash said that “inconsistent enforcement of extreme content” may have led to the dip in revenue.
