According to the specs table, the Radeon RX 9070 GRE has fewer shader cores, RT cores, TMUs, memory, and other things compared to the Radeon RX 9070 XT. Note: The two GPUs tested here were evaluated at a 1440p resolution with High/Ultra Settings, unless otherwise specified. All the FPS numbers were sourced from the Hardware for Gamers channel on YouTube. For the tests, the two graphics cards were paired with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU.

On average, the Radeon RX 9070 XT delivers 29.5% more FPS than the Radeon RX 9070 GRE. The former is 20.4% faster than the latter in ray tracing. Therefore, the Radeon RX 9070 XT is a lot faster in gaming.

Price Comparison

The Radeon RX 9070 GRE is currently only available in China and a few other regions, but it has yet to be launched in the US. It is priced at 4,199 RMB, which converts to around $584, but keep in mind that the Chinese price includes VAT. Therefore, the price of Radeon RX 9070 GRE should be around $550 without VAT.

On the other hand, the Radeon RX 9070 XT is available right now for around $720 to $800 on Amazon. Therefore, it is around 30% more expensive but also has 4GB more memory.

Final Verdict on Radeon RX 9070 GRE vs RX 9070 XT

The Radeon RX 9070 XT delivers around 30% more performance than the Radeon RX 9070 GRE. The former also has 16GB of memory compared to the latter’s 12GB of memory. Radeon RX 9070 XT is also 30% more expensive, but it is still the better choice since it has more VRAM, which future-proofs it.

However, if you have a limited budget, then you should get the standard Radeon RX 9070 instead, which is still better than the GRE model that doesn’t cost a lot of money.
