Rebirth in NBA 2K25 lets you create a brand new build, but with the OVR of your highest-rated MyPLAYER. So, here’s what you need to know.
If you want a fresh new build in NBA 2K25 without needing to grind for OVR, Rebirth is what you should go with. By doing this, you can avoid having to start over and create a new save. Rebirth is basically a Quest in the NBA 2K series that lets you make a new build but with a much higher overall rating.
This feature has been greatly improved in the latest NBA 2K game, and we’ve got everything you need to know about it. This includes details on how Rebirth works, along with how you can unlock this feature and use it.
What is Rebirth in NBA 2K25?
If you create a new MyPLAYER build with Rebirth, its maximum OVR will be equivalent to your existing highest-rated MyPLAYER. So, let’s say you already have a player with 99 OVR and you use Rebirth to make a new build. In that case, you can make a new player with a max potential OVR of 99.
Your Silver level Badges for this Rebirth build will be automatically unlocked once you meet their attribute requirements. In addition, you’ll get a Badge level progression accelerator that gives you a 10% boost. Overall, it’s a fantastic feature that can be considered NBA 2K’s version of New Game Plus.

Here’s what you should do to unlock Rebirth for your MyPLAYER in NBA 2K25:
- Find Ronnie2K outside the Arena in The City and talk to him about Rebirth.
- Complete the MyCAREER Quest to unlock Rebirth by reaching 90 OVR on a save.
You’ll get the option to use Rebirth the next time you create a new MyPLAYER. This feature will be unlocked permanently and you can use it multiple times. With that being said, Rebirth doesn’t automatically raise your new build’s OVR. You can immediately max it out, but this will require a substantial amount of VC. So you should have plenty of VC saved if you want to make the most out of this feature.
