Codes of conduct are an important addition to games with the growing competitiveness among players. Emotions run high, prompting unethical behaviors to arise during critical moments. These could be in the form of grief, toxic behaviors, or even cheating. Rematch has brought to light some of the complaints and taken measures to put this under control.

In this article, we will look at the updated code of conduct guidelines in Rematch.

With the surfacing of various issues and violations in the past few weeks, Sloclap has taken the matters seriously. The game is intended to be challenging, fun, and fair for all players, and certain actions by some tamper with the experience. Some of the new measures under implementation are as follows:

Griefing

Griefing is the act of tampering with the game by throwing the game. This could be by assisting the opponent, leaving the match midway, or scoring own goals. To counter griefing, Sloclap will impose a 3-day temporary ban on players committing such acts.

Toxic Behavior

Toxic behavior is demonstrated when players use abusive language, threaten other players, or harass them mid-game. These are a serious act of offense and will prompt Sloclap to impose a ban ranging from 3 to 7 days. This will be subject to the severity of the offense.

Cheating

Players who are found cheating using any hack or unauthorized software to gain an unfair advantage will also not be tolerated. This will lead to the player receiving an indefinite ban.

These bans are not a one-time thing and will only add to repetitive offenders. Similar to the cheaters, even griefers and toxic players can receive indefinite bans. Sloclap encourages players to submit player reports via their official Discord server. In the meantime, they are busy implementing a ‘Player Report feature’ for immediate access to acting sometime in the future.

The moderation team is actively monitoring in-game behavior and works diligently to ensure a friendlier environment.
