REPO First Major Update Highlights: All We Know for Now

REPO is gearing up for its first major update after its smashing Early Access debut earlier in February 2025. The same is now available through an open beta test (here’s how to access it). There are plenty of new things for players to enjoy with this update, including the much-requested matchmaking system.

REPO First Major Update Comes With Plenty of New Things

From the ongoing REPO Open Beta Test, we know about the following new content coming with the first big update:

• Matchmaking System with Server List where you will be able to choose which region you want to play in.
• You can set passwords for Private Lobbies and kick errant players from lobbies.
• The Avant-Garde: A new level (a museum) with new valuables to find.
• Overcharge ability: This builds up when you grab and lift enemies, with stronger enemies giving more Overcharge and Overcharge getting shared if multiple players lift the same enemy. Once your meter fills up, you will get knocked back and possibly take damage.
• New items include Pulse Pistol, Boltzap, Prodzap, and Duck Bucket.
• During the countdown at Extraction Points, you will find a new visual that warns about what might get destroyed.
• There are also reports of weapon buffs and UI changes.

One of the biggest missing points from REPO’s first big update is the lack of new monsters. Thankfully, there are plenty of new things that players can spend their time on, especially with the addition of a new level. For those still wondering, you can access the REPO Open Beta Test by going into the game’s Steam Properties, selecting Beta Participation from the Beta tab, and changing the drop-down menu to “beta-beta branch”.
