You’re navigating the dimly lit halls of a haunted location, skimming through the hallways in search of valuable loot. As you proceed through a hallway, you see a shadowy figure by the door. A white head emerges from the darkness beyond the door, staring right at you. As you stare back at this monstrosity, a pair of arms emerges. “Seems manageable,” you think, only for more pairs of long arms to spring out from the darkness, sending you and your friends into a frenzy to escape.

If you’ve encountered anything like that while playing REPO, you’ve met the Shadowchild. This is one of the most annoying monsters in the game that can zoom in to attack you if you’re not careful, dealing large chunks of damage. While this spooky boss may seem like a hurdle too big to vault over, it is not without openings to exploit. If you’re stuck dealing with the Shadowchild in REPO, we’re here to help you counter and deal with it. In this guide, we shall go over how to counter the Shadowchild in REPO.

As stated earlier, the Shadowchild is the creature that floats in the air and springs out several pairs of arms like a spider before flying through and grabbing you for an attack. This attack deals 30 damage, making this enemy fairly annoying.

But as unavoidable as this attack may seem, that is not the case. The Shadowchild springs up and attacks based on whether you’re looking at it or not. If you maintain eye contact with this monster, it will slowly start generating pairs of arms that will emerge from the shadows.

Keep looking at the creature, and the arms will grow longer, signaling to you and your team that the Shadowchild is about to attack. If the arms are getting longer, your first course of action should be to immediately look away. This will keep you safe from the attack, letting you survive the monster.

Sometimes, however, you need to look at the monster to keep track of its movements. If you happen to be in this situation and can’t avoid looking at it, we recommend staring at the monster using your peripheral vision. This will not trigger the monster and will also let you track it.

If you wish to attack the monster, make your approach while keeping it in the periphery of your vision. Grab it using 9 Strength and then slam it to the ground. You’ll get a few chances to do so before the monster escapes. Rinse and repeat to drain its 150 HP and kill it.
