In Revenge of the Savage Planet, you play as an employee of a corporation that has dumped you on a planet at the edge of space. And, part of exploring unknown and mysterious planets is getting to interact with a wide variety of flora and fauna in these worlds. While some of the vegetation is for show, there are many others that will serve a purpose throughout your journey.
A prime example of this is the Dormant Fungal Receptors, which resemble large blue mushrooms. You’ll encounter them on the planet Xephyr, and at first glance, they don’t seem all that special. In this guide, we’ll explain why and how these Dormant Fungal Receptors in Revenge of the Savage Planet work.
What Are Dormant Fungal Receptors in Revenge of the Savage Planet?
The Dormant Fungal Receptors are a crucial part of solving a puzzle on Xephyr. You can use these to get through the Batterus Lo walls on the planet. However, to solve this puzzle, you’ll need a couple of things first. You require the upgrade for the Power Hose, dubbed the Goo Ingestor. Only when you have this upgrade installed can you Power Hose fire off conductive goo.
Follow the steps mentioned below to acquire this particular upgrade:
- Step 1: Scan any of the Ferro Goo plants. This will mark the two parts you’ll need to collect to craft the upgrade on your map.
- Step 2: The first part is inside the Pillars of Turpitude region.
- Step 3: Collect the second part from the Deadwood Gulch section of the map.
- Step 4: Go back to the Habitat and use the 3D Printer to make the Goo Ingestor upgrade. You’ll need to combine Carbon, Aluminum, and Silicon to get this upgrade.

How To Use the Dormant Fungal Receptors in Revenge of the Savage Planet
You will need to approach the Batterus Lo wall in Xephyr. After that, follow the steps mentioned below to start using the blue mushrooms.
- Step 1: Interact with the Ferro Goo dispenser on the Batterus Lo wall. This will fill up your Power Hose tank with Ferro Goo.
- Step 2: Now, head to the large glowing mushrooms, which are the Fungal Generators. From there, spray the Ferro Goo at the Dormant Fungal Receptors. There are three of these in the area, and you’ll need to repeat the procedure for each one.
The first receptor is close to the central point of this area. To locate the second one, search behind the stone pillars here. The last one is on a cliff wall, and you’ll need to climb to reach it. Once all three of the receptors are connected to nearby Fungal Generators, the Batterus Lo will collapse and reveal the way forward.
