Rey Dau is the Apex Monster of Windward Plains in Monster Hunter Wilds or MHWilds. The Flying Wyvern makes its debut in the latest installment of the series.

“A Flying Wyvern that rules the Windward Plains as its apex predator.
It has adapted to the lightning that accompanies the Sandtide, with most sightings having occurred during the storm.
Its ability to discharge electricity in powerful attacks pose a threat to even the most experienced hunters.”

Players got to encounter Rey Dau during the MHWilds’ Open Beta. The large bipedal Apex Monster is covered with golden scales, along with distinctive horns on its face and massive wings.

One of its most devastating attacks, a railgun-esque lighting discharge, makes use of the horns that fold towards its face. Later in the hunt, its wings and back have a blue hue from lightning.

Monster Hunter Wilds players did get to experience fighting Rey Dau in the MHWilds Open Beta. Many might have also caught it engage in a turf war with Arkveld during the latter’s Advanced Quest. Rey Dau has Thunder as its element and can cause players Thunderblight (carry Nulberry for the fight and make use of Thunder Resistance). Look out for openings (its horns are vulnerable after its railgun attack), environmental traps, and its move patterns as you tackle the beast.
