Roadcraft sees you going back and forth between several locations, but does it have a fast-travel system to make it easier?

Saber Interactive’s Roadcraft is all about the road experience. You drive around in heavy vehicles, going from location to location in an effort to rebuild areas hit by natural disasters. Traveling is one of your main gameplay loops, and the real challenge comes from the terrain you trudge through regularly.
While this may seem exciting at first, it can be a bit too much running the same few routes later on. A fast travel system would be the perfect way to balance the fatigue, but unfortunately, Roadcraft does not have a fast travel system. While the developers have not stated any reason for it, it is safe to assume it is because travel is one of the main gameplay loops of Roadcraft. Understandably, the devs would want you to engage with it to the point of mastery.
Nonetheless, it does not make traveling the same few routes any less tiring. Thankfully, there is a way to work around the lack of a Fast Travel system in the game. This method is not a direct substitute for a fast travel system, but it will still help you move from Point A to B a little faster. In this guide, we shall go over the method you can use in place of fast travel.

The first alternative to the fast travel system is the recovery system in the game. There are several bases in Roadcraft that double as Recovery Points in the game. These points allow you to respawn when stuck. In a way, these bases can be used as a traditional fast travel point.
So, get yourself stuck in some terrain, and the game will prompt you to press the ‘R’ key to initiate recovery. Press and hold the designated key to open the Recovery Point menu. Select the base you wish to respawn at, or in this case, “fast travel” to, and the game will teleport you there. This is the only way to move from point to point in a fast-travel sort of way. Make sure to unlock as many bases as you can before you try it out.
