Update 62 is live, and players can now get the Black Swordsman (Berserker) Ultimate tier unit in Anime Last Stand. You will need to play some of the new content and get the new items to do so. Update 62 is heavily inspired by the popular Berserk anime/manga series, and comprises a couple of units that are based on its characters. The Black Swordsman is inspired by the main protagonist of the story, Guts.
This article will explain everything you need to know about the Black Swordsman (Berserker) evolution.
Anime Last Stand: Black Swordsman (Berserker) Stats
Here is a breakdown of the base stats of level 1 Black Swordsman (Berserker):
- Placement Cost: $2,000
- Tier: Ultimate
- Damage: 75K
- Range: 20
- SPA: 9
- Tower Type: Hybrid
- Element: Fire
- Sub Type: Physical
- Effect: Rapture
- Attack Type: AoE (Line) -> AoE (Circle) -> AoE (Full)
Passive Stats
Marionette of Steel
- If Tower is not attacking, 5% chance that Black Swordsman (Berserker) will attack earlier than the SPA.
- When Marionette of Steel is activated, Tower deals 15% current damage and applies Burn + Detonation.
- Activation chains into the Deadly Pursuit Passive.
Crimson Omen
This triggers when a boss enters the Tower range:
- Deal 5x damage and Mutliate to enemies in range.
- 15x Damage to the boss and applies bleed. The boss takes +5% damage per hit (stacks five times).
- Drains 0.5% of the boss’s HP every five seconds (caps at 500B).
Outrage
- Instantly activates when 30 enemies enter Tower range.
- Cooldown is SPA*5.
- Deals 100% damage to all enemies in range for 10 seconds. If a boss is in range, this damage increases to 150%.
- After Outrage triggers:
- Gain +25% damage for 30 seconds.
- Fain 15% range for 30 seconds.
- If Outrage is not active for 2 seconds, passive damage increases by 25% (stacks till +125% per 2 seconds).
Deadly Pursuit
This buff activates through the Marionette of Steel passive. For 65 seconds, Black Swordsman (Berserker) gains:
- -50% SPA.
- -20% Damage.
- Swap Rupture with Mutlate.
- Disables the Marionette of Steel passive.
- Crimson Omen changes to use SPA*8.
After Deadly Pursuit ends
- Original stats get restored.
- -25% damage for 5 attacks.
- Deadly Pursuit enters 60 60-second cooldown.

Black Swordsman (Berserker) is the last unit in the evolution chain. To that end, if you want to obtain the unit, you will first need to acquire the base unit. Here is the evolution chain:
- Black Swordsman -> Black Swordsman (Berserk) -> Black Swordsman (Berserker).
How To Obtain the Base Version
- The base version of the unit can only be summoned via Banner 2. Summoning on the banner will require gems. It is a Celestial-tier unit that has a relatively lower drop chance, so be prepared with a lot of gems. Refer to our Anime Last Stand Codes article for the latest in-game rewards.
First Evolution: Black Swordsman (Berserk)

- 10x Mythic Spirit Shard
- 25x Legendary Spirit Shard
- 75x Epic Spirit Shard
- 100x Rare Spirit Shard
- 250x Common Spirit Shard
- 1x Dark Greatsword
You can craft the Dark Greatsword item with these ingredients:
- 5x Mythic Spirit Shard
- 10x Legendary Spirit Shard
- 20x Epic Spirit Shard
- 50x Rare Spirit Shard
- 100x Common Spirit Shard
Second Evolution: Black Swordsman (Berserker)
To reach the final evolution stage, you will need these items:
- 22x Mythic Shards
- 50x Legendary Spirit Shards
- 350 Sacrifice Essence: Drops from Act 1-3 of the Sacrificial Realm Legend Stage
- 500 Dark Essence
- 1x Sacrifice Mask: Drops from Act 3 of the Sacrificial Realm Legend Stage
