Navigate the Hedge Maze with our detailed guide. Discover strategies to survive the final boss in Doors: The Outdoors Update.

The Hedge Maze is the final room in The Outdoors Update in Doors. The popular Roblox game recently got a massive update, adding the Outdoors subfloor of the Hotel. It features a garden/outside area featuring new entities such as the Mandrake and the Monuments, new encounters such as the Eyestalk Chase sequence, and the friendly Grampy NPC who gives you the Lotus. If you survive all of that, players get to the final boss arena, which is the Hedge Maze.
This guide will walk you through the ins and outs of the Hedge Maze level in Doors: The Outdoors Update, and also explain how to deal with the boss on that floor.

Overview

You will enter the Hedge Maze a few doors after encountering the Mill area with the Grampy NPC. After following the exit signs, you will reach a big gate leading into a tunnel-like bridge overgrown with flora. A cutscene featuring the Groundskeeper will introduce the final boss of the Outdoors Update: The Bramble.
The Cutscene ends with the Bramble dragging off the Groundskeeper. And now you are free to enter the Hedge Maze, where the World Lotus, the overarching villain of the Outdoors subfloor, is located.
Hedge Maze: What To Do

Your primary goal in the Hedge Maze is to use the three guillotines placed inside and cut off the big vines of the World Lotus. To do so, you have to navigate through the Hedge Maze and open various small doors. After using the third guillotine, the exit from the maze should be near, and you can get out. However, finding the guillotines will not be so easy, as the Bramble will be patrolling the Hedge Maze. It is the final boss of The Outdoors subfloor in Doors, and you will have to survive his attacks to get out.
Evading the Bramble

Like most other hostile entities in Doors, you cannot damage the Bramble. It is a giant mass of vines with a lamp for a head. That lamp is the key to surviving the Hedge Maze. The entity is essentially a red light, green light boss and has two modes. Here is a breakdown of its attack patterns to help you survive:
- When the Bramble’s lamp is off, it will not attack you. This is the green light bit, and players are free to go about the Hedge Maze during this phase.
- But when the Bramble’s lamp is on, it will get more aggressive and look around for the player. This is the red light phase. All you have to do is not move during this phase, and the entity will not attack you, even if you are standing in its path.
- If you move during the Bramble’s hunt mode, you will take damage if you are in its LOS. So, try to run away or hide in a closet before it kills you. If the Bramble gets too close while dealing damage, it will instantly kill the player. So take your time while going through the Hedge Maze.
- It can instantly teleport to the various lampposts scattered around the maze. So be careful of your surroundings.
That is all you need to reliably finish the Hedge Maze and complete The Outdoors update in Doors. After you have cut the third World Lotus vine using the guillotine, you can safely exit the Hedge Maze, triggering the final cutscene that we will not spoil here.
