Roblox fans rejoice! Fifteam is back with the announcement of The Egg Hunt: Great Yolktales 2026, amid The Hatch Roblox event controversy.

Amid the ongoing controversy about The Hatch, Fifteam has dropped a bombshell. The development team behind the Egg Hunt 2018: The Great Yolktales has announced that they are working on a sequel for Easter 2026. The event has been dubbed The Great Yolktales 2026. Fifteam’s X account shared the news on June 18, 2025, and it has made quite the splash in the Roblox community. Popular content creators like KreekCraft have also thrown their support behind the announcement.
Criticizing Roblox’s recent controversy surrounding their upcoming event, KreekCraft welcomed the news about The Great Yolktales getting a sequel. The YouTuber claimed that the gaming company should have done something similar to what Fifteam is doing instead of The Hatch:
“This is all Roblox had to do. It’s all they ever had to do. Doesn’t matter though. FIFTEAM IS BACK. EGG HUNTS ARE BACK. WE ARE SO BACK.”

For context, Roblox’s upcoming egg hunt-inspired event, called The Hatch, has been facing a lot of backlash. Many popular developers have been pulling out of the event due to disagreements. A major point of contention that many have brought up is the inclusion of the controversial developer Teddy in the event. KreekCraft has even called on Roblox to ban Teddy permanently.

Fifteam is a Roblox development team that made the 2018 Egg Hunt event titled The Great Yolktales. The event was one of the last classic egg hunts on the platform and has been widely praised by the community as one of the best events ever hosted. On June 18, the team announced on X that a follow-up to the event is in development. In the post, they wrote that it would be a community-driven project:
“By the community, for the community. Easter 2026.”
In a subsequent post on the same thread, Fifteam revealed that the project has been in development since January 2025. It also includes developers from Studio Koi Koi and GeekOutKK. The team also announced that they would be moving forward even if Roblox does not support them with free UGC eggs.
They also shared their vision for The Great Yolktales 2026, giving a sneak peek into what they plan on doing:
“A massive story-driven action adventure modeled after classic Roblox Egg Hunts, rebuilt as an epic narrative experience with 10+ hours of content. Blends platforming, combat, puzzle-solving, and exploration.”

The roadmap shared by Fifteam also includes a proposed business model to make the event viable. The main game is going to be free. Players will be able to support the developers by making local purchases. The team’s message reads:
“Support us with a $50 local currency purchase – we get $35 (normally 5000 Robux = $12.50), which helps fund UGC costs. You also get free sellable UGC items. This lets us focus on quality artwork – for the community, by the community.”
