How To Obtain the Batty Mutation
You can get the Batty by using the Bat Whisperer Rod in Fisch. It has a bonus which gives Batty fish passively depending on the number of bats present. One bat is always present, while another one gets added at night. On top of that, each time you catch a fish, a bat will appear for 30 seconds.
As of the current patch, this is the only way to catch any fish with this mutation. The Bat Whisperer Rod is a limited rod only obtainable during the FischFright 2025 event. Which means players have till the event ends on November 30, 2025, to get the rod.
To get the Bat Whisperer Rod, you have to buy it from the Flying Dutchman NPC for 10,000 Candy. This is the event currency for FischFright, and you can obtain it by doing the quests around Crook’s Hollow. The Flying Dutchman will cycle between these three locations during the Halloween Event:
- Shoreline
- Pumpkin Patch
- Graveyard
Batty Mutation Stats
It increases the value of your catch by three times. Any catch affected by this mutation also changes in appearance. The fish takes on a spooky, dark color and pulses red and white.
