Grow a Garden is back with another exciting update called the Zen Event (July 12, 2025). The new update sees brand-new gameplay content, including new pets, plants, and more. This article, in particular, will focus on the Kappa. It is a mythical-tier pet that can be obtained in the game. Let’s find out how you can get it and what it does in Roblox Grow a Garden.

What is the Grow a Garden Kappa?

The Kappa is a mythical rarity pet that was added to the game during the Zen Event Update. It is inspired by Japanese folklore and resembles a turtle-like creature with a green body, yellow beak, brown-black hair, and frog-like legs and arms.

How To Get the Kappa

To obtain the Kappa, you must hatch it from a Zen Egg, which has a 3.5% hatch chance. The Zen Egg is a limited-time, legendary egg available during the Zen Event (July 19 – 26, 2025). Here’s how to acquire a Zen Egg:

Purchase from the Zen Shop:

  • Cost: 30 Chi (earned by giving Tranquil plants to the Zen Shop NPC, Tanuki, located in the middle of the island) or 149 Robux.

Reward from Zen Channeller’s Tree:

  • Deliver Tranquil fruits to the Zen Channeller NPC to upgrade the Zen Tree (seven levels). Each level offers a chance to receive a Zen Egg as a reward.
  • You can obtain tranquil mutations every hour during the Zen Event or by using the Tanchozuru pet.

Hatching Process:

  • Place the Zen Egg in an empty garden spot.
  • Wait approximately 4 hours and 10 minutes for it to hatch.
  • With a 3.5% chance, you’ll get the Kappa; other pets (example: Kitsune, Shiba Inu, Nihonzaru) are more or less likely depending on their rarity.

What Does the Kappa Do?

The Kappa has a unique ability called the Water Spirit. Here’s what it does:

  • Every 7 seconds, the Kappa sprays water on nearby fruits within a 25.62-stud radius, applying the Wet mutation, which grants a 2× sell value multiplier.
  • For fruits already with the Wet mutation, there’s a ~10% chance to upgrade to the Bloodlit mutation, which provides a 4× sell value multiplier.
