The Grow a Garden Kitchen Storm Event added a bunch of new things, including a new NPC called the Rat Connoisseur. Almost reminiscent of Remy from Ratatouille, it’s a giant rat at the center of the event area that appeared on August 9, 2025. You can submit certain food items to it and get rewards.

Grow a Garden Rat Connoisseur Guide
The Rat Connoisseur is an NPC, much like the Chris P pig NPC from the Cooking Event. However, unlike Chris P, the rat NPC only takes Mutated Food items. In exchange, it gives players a variety of rewards from the Grow a Garden Kitchen Storm Event.
How To Make Mutated Food
Follow these steps to make mutated food for the Rat Connoisseur:
- Launch Grow a Garden during the Kitchen Storm Event.
- Gather ingredients matching a recipe you want to make. Consult our complete guide of All Cooking Event Recipes for options.
- Make sure at least one of the crops in the recipe has a mutation.
- Submit all the ingredients, including at least one mutated crop, in the recipe.
- There is a chance that the food will undergo a mutation. The chance % will appear on the meter above the cook pot.
- Wait till the cooking is done, and if you get a mutated food, you can submit it to the Rat Connoisseur.
- The Rat Connoisseur will give an option among some rewards depending on the food you submit.
