The new Grow a Garden update added a variety of things, like Pet Mutations and several new dinosaur pets. Players can get their hands on the six new dinosaurs by hatching the newly added Primal Egg. It resembles the previously added Dinosaur Egg but gives completely new pets, which are arguably better.
This guide will go through the hatch chances for all the new dinosaur pets from the Primal Egg in Grow a Garden, along with the ways you can obtain the egg.
Grow a Garden Guide: Everything To Know About the Primal Egg
The Prehistoric Update first brought Dinosaur pets. For the event’s second week, the developer added six new pets featuring some fan-favorites such as the iconic Spinosaurus. You can obtain them by hatching the Primal Eggs that are tied to the ongoing Prehistoric Event. There is no way to tell which dinosaur you will get, as it is based on chance.
Pet List and Hatch Chance
Here is a complete breakdown of each dinosaur pet you can get by hatching the egg. We have listed the corresponding hatch chance and primary trait for each pet as well.

| Dilophosaurus | 3% | Either advances the cooldown of three other pets by 40 seconds or gives 570 XP to them every 13:52 minutes. |
| Ankylosaurus | 1% | If a player steals your fruit, 16.35% chance you will get a copy of the fruit as well. |
| Spinosaurus | 0.5% | Every 19:30 minutes, it duplicates a random mutation from three fruits and spreads the three mutations to another fruit. |
How To Obtain the Primal Egg in Grow a Garden
There are several options if you want to get the egg. Firstly, you can just buy the premium version from the in-game shop with Robux. Here is a breakdown of the pricing:
- 1x Premium Primal Egg: 149 Robux
- 3x Premium Primal Eggs: 429 Robux
- 10x Premium Primal Eggs: 1,269 Robux
The 10x bundle is the most expensive but also the most cost-effective. The premium version is not very different from the regular version and has the chance to spawn a Rainbow Premium Primal Egg in addition to the rest of the dinosaur pets. This is a special egg that only spawns rainbow mutated versions of the dinosaur pets.
You can get the normal version of the egg in two ways.
- Players can craft the Primal Egg from the crafting table at the Prehistoric Event area in the center of the map. It will appear only after you have upgraded the DNA Machine to Level 4. It takes 30 minutes to craft one Primal Egg after you submit the following items:
- Dinosaur egg
- Bone Blossom
- 5.5 million Sheckles
- Primal Eggs can also spawn directly from the DNA Machine after the first upgrade. This bypasses the crafting step and gives you the egg instead of the Dinosaur Eggs.
