Grow a Garden Sandy Mutation is a new mutation that occurs in the Sandstorm Weather Event. It also has two variants. Let’s learn.

Grow a Garden is constantly updating and adding new content for its ever-growing fan base. One of the key game mechanics is mutations. Mutations significantly increase the value of the crop. A new mutation was recently added to the game called the Sandy Mutation. The mutation is unique since it has two variants – Clay and Ceramic. Let’s learn about it.
What Is the Grow a Garden Sandy Mutation?
Grow a Garden has released a new mutation called the Sandy Mutation. It occurs during the Sandstorm Weather Event. As the name suggests, it gives your crop a sandy look, and it emits puffs of sand around the crop. This mutation is random and depends on the Sandstorm event, which lasts about three minutes and affects all crops on a server. You can not manually trigger this event.
The Sandy Mutation increases your crop’s value by 3x.
What Are the Two Variants?
The Sandy Mutation has two variants – Clay Mutation and Ceramic Mutation. Let us learn about them:
Clay Mutation: This occurs when a crop with the Sandy Mutation also gains the Wet Mutation (from a Rain or Thunderstorm event). The Clay Mutation gives crops a dripping clay appearance and increases their sell value by 10x. To maximize chances, plant crops like Moon Mango or Sugar Apple during a Sandstorm, then wait for a Rain event or use a sprinkler to apply the Wet Mutation.
Ceramic Mutation: This is created when a crop with the Sandy Mutation also has either the Burnt Mutation (applied using a Burnt Mutation Spray or a Cooked Owl Pet) or the Sundried Mutation (from a Heatwave event). The Ceramic Mutation darkens the crop color to a deep brown and boosts its sell value by 30x.
The Burnt Mutation is easier to apply since Burnt Mutation Sprays are available for three Summer Coins in the Summer Harvest Event shop, while Sundried relies on the rare Heatwave event.
Note: To increase your chances of getting this mutation, plant a full garden during a Sandstorm and use tools like the Master Sprinkler.
