Solve the Motel Room and Cursed Cathedral mysteries in Armless Detective to earn the Halloween Spotlight Rune and Key.
Armless Detective is one of many featured games in the latest Halloween Spotlight event. And like all the other games, you need to do two main quests. Each quest rewards you with a special item; completing both will give you a Rune and a Key, which are essential for unlocking event rewards inside the Cursed Clearing hub.

Halloween Spotlight Armless Detective Rune Guide
To get the Rune badge, you need to play and win a game in the limited-time Cursed Cathedral map, but it won’t be fully unlocked, as you will be playing in a motel room. Follow these steps to complete it:
- Start by joining the event through the Halloween Spotlight portal in the Cursed Clearing.
- Once inside Armless Detective, enter the motel room and begin your investigation.
- Use your magnifying glass, magnet, and flashlight to find clues like fingerprints, missing items, or markings on walls.
After collecting enough evidence, open your case folder and match the clues with the right suspect profile. Head to the police lineup gate, select the correct criminal, and solve the case. You will get your Rune as soon as you complete this mission.
Armless Detective Key Guide
After you have completed the Motel Room case, the Cursed Cathedral level unlocks. To get the key, follow these steps:
- Solve the metal ball maze near the side of the cathedral by using your magnet gadget.
- Move the ball into the three colored squares to break the seal and open the main doors.
- Inside, use your magnifying glass to align mirrors and direct light onto the diamond at the back of the hall.
Pay attention to its color: red means real, and black means fake. Collect all evidence, including candy, shed clues, and the shed key, then organize your findings to identify the correct suspect once again. Once done, hit the red switch through the broken window to activate the statue area. This will unlock the next phase of this mission, which is the Trick-or-Treat mini-game.
The mini-game is fun and fast-paced, as you need to deliver candies to 150 houses in Spooky Town before the time runs out. The main goal is to keep moving while pressing the prompted buttons.

- You cannot access the Cursed Cathedral without completing the Motel Room case.
