One of the best rods you can get during the FischFright 2025 event is the Necrotic Rod. However, this is a craftable rod that requires some very rare materials, such as the Hexed Skeletal Nessie fish. In this guide, we will explain how to get all of the ingredients required to craft the Necrotic Rod and discuss its stats.

FischFright 2025 Halloween Event: Necrotic Rod
Necrotic Rod Crafting Ingredients
To craft the rare rod, you will need the following items:
- 1 Hexed Skeletal Nessie
- 5 Sanguine Bones
- 2 Red Frightful Skulls
- 650,000 C$
If you have these ingredients, you can go to the Crafting Anviel inside the Ancient Archives on the Ancient Isle and get the rod. However, getting these ingredients can be a bit tricky.
How To Get Hexed Skeletal Nessie in Fisch
The Skeletal Nessie is a Limited-tier fish that you can only get during the FischFright Halloween event. You can only fish it inside Nessie’s Catacombs on Crook’s Hollow Island. To access the location:
- Obtain a Baby Nessie by trick-or-treating at the houses in Crook’s Hollow. There is a roughly 1% chance that during a Treat phase of the event, you will get a Baby Nessie.
- After you have it, use the Baby Nessie at the big Nessie statue in the graveyard area of Crook’s Hollow to enter the catacombs.
- Here, you have to place five Frightful Skulls at the matching torsos. Only then will you get access to the fishing area.
Catching the Skeletal Nessie can be challenging, and you will probably need an end-game rod such as the Ruinous Oath to make it easy. However, you need the Hexed mutation on the fish to craft the Necrotic Rod.
The best way currently is to use the Appraisal mechanic. Each time, it will take a couple of thousand dollars to have a small chance of getting a Hexed Skeletal Nessie. Remember, you can only get the fish during FischFright, so you have a few weeks at max.
How To Get Red Frightful Skulls
This is yet another very rare catch that you have to get to craft the Necrotic Rod. You can get Red Frightful Skulls at a Red Frightful Pool that randomly spawns in the First Sea every 45 minutes. Each time you fish there, you have a 0.29% chance of also getting a Red Frightful Skull.
So you will have to farm the pool a lot to get two. On top of that, the pools can be of varying colors, so you may have to wait a while to find the right one.
How To Get Sanguine Bones
Compared to the other things on the list, Sanguine Bones are much easier to get. Bone is a Trash-tier catch at the Brine Pool location of the Desolate Deep. You can use the Garbage Bait to make it easier. But you will need a rod with the Invincible Enchant to fish there unless you have either the Electric Guitar or a Reinforced Rod.
The best method would be to use the Sanguine Spire with either the Invincible Enchant or the glitched potion.

- The passive activates every two seconds while reeling in your catch.
- Each time it reduces control by 10%
- But the progress speed increases by 10% of the current value.
- And the Resilience stat increases by 10.
