The Snowy Mountain Update is live in Prospecting, and players can now get the Icebreaker Shovel. Shovels are one of the most important tools in the game, considering their toughness determines whether you can start using your pan to get minerals at a digsite. As with previous updates, items added in the Snowy Mountain Update are some of the best in the game, and that includes the Frostbite Pan.
In this article, we will explain how you can get your hands on the Icebreaker Shovel in Prospecting and briefly discuss its stats.

How To Obtain the Icebreaker Shovel in Prospecting?
To get the Icebreaker Shovel, you have to get to the new Snowy Island area first. For that, you have to talk to the Arctic Traveler NPC at the Caldera Island Docks. Finish the Lighthouse Quest on the mainland to get to Caldera Island.
Talk to the NPC, and then equip the Dragonflame Shovel from the Magma Furnace. Only then will the Arctic Traveler take you to the new Snowy Island. After getting there, you still have to unlock the Frozen Peak by completing these two quests:
- Repair the Bridge by doing the Bulder NPC Quest.
- Clear the path to Frozen Peak by completing Mountain Surveyor’s Quest.
Builder’s Quest
After reaching the Frostbite River area, keep climbing using the ladders behind the Blacksmite, and you will eventually reach the Builder. Collect these minerals, and he will rebuild the bridge:
- 50 Cobalt
- 100 Glacial Quartz
- 200 Titanium
- 250 Blue Ice
Walk over the rebuilt bridge, and you will find the Frostbite Waterfall digsite. This is where you will be grinding for the most part before unlocking Frozen Peak.
Mountain Surveyor’s Quest: Unlocking Frozen Peak
You have to find the Mountain Surveyor NPC next to unlock Frozen Peak. Keep climbing the mountain using ladders and parkour skills till you reach the NPC. First, he will ask for these materials:
- 500 Blue Ice
- 200 Glacial Quartz
- 20 Aquamarine
- 20 Tourmaline
You are still not done, as the Mountain Surveyor will want two more mythical items:
- 1 Volcanic Core
- 1 Vortessence
If you manage to find these, talk to the NPC, and the path to the Frozen Peak will open up. Walk across the digsite, and you will see the Icebreaker Shovel, along with the Frostbite Pan and the new sluice.
