How To Obtain Lucid Reel
As of the current patch, you can get a Lucid Reel by completing Tessael’s quest. Tessael is an NPC in the Cultist Lair area, which players can access through the Tarrapin Hideaway. The NPC is located at the entrance to the Sanctum subsection of the Cultist Lair. For that, you have to open Cultist Lair Door 1 and Cultist Lair Door 2 and get to the final area.
To complete Tessael’s quest and get the Lucid Reel, you have to bring him a Cursed Touch Cathulid or a Cursed Touch Cathulith. Cathulid and Cathulith are Exotic-tier fish you can catch in the Hall of Whispers and Passage of Oaths subsections of the Cultist Lair. You can wait for the respective Abundance events to spawn on the server for a higher chance of obtaining the fish.
The only way to get the Cursed Touch mutation is to use the Great Dreamer Rod. Each time the rod’s passive triggers, there is a 50% chance the extra fish you get will have the Cursed Touch mutation.
What To Do With the Lucid Reel?
The only reason to get the Lucid Reel is to craft the Lucid Rod. It is one of the three ingredients you need to submit at the Ancient Archives’ crafting anvil to get a Stage 7 Rod. The rod is the only way to obtain Lucid mutations in Fisch, which makes it a highly profitable item. Fish with this mutation receive an 8.5x value boost.
